I was diagnosed with hypertension at an early age. I was 17 years old. I was at the U.S. Army entrance center taking a physical. The nurse was taking my blood pressure. I had just been waiting in a long line of possible enlistee’s. I was standing there with my best friend from high school. He had just gotten into a argument with some guy, when I stepped in to prevent a fist fight. I had been upset, and then had my blood pressure taken for my entrance physical.
The nurse looked at me and said “we have got a problem here”. I asked her “what do you mean”? She said my blood pressure was too high, and they would not let me enlist at that level. That was the first time I was aware that I had high blood pressure, or what doctors call “Hypertension”. I must have been born with this? I was too young to have this? only over weight and old people get this? I started to look back at my child hood, and discovered some things that may have contributed to this condition.
I had been an athlete growing up. my dad was a little league coach, and I played every sport, every year, for several years. During our football practices, dad would give us salt pills. We would eat these to help us retain water, and not dehydrate. But doctor’s do not know exactly what causes hypertension? They will tell you, to quit caffeine. They will suggest to greatly lower your sodium(salt) intake. If you are a smoker they will tell you to quit smoking. I did this finally after 30 years!
But the main thing I have found that works, is making sure to control your temper. I incorporate all of the above, plus a dietetic medication. This takes away excess water from your body. But what really works for me is to control the way I think, and making a real effort to stay calm. People with hypertension are notorious for bad tempers. This is because your blood pressure is way too high. Normal should be 120/80. add in the above tips, and a good sensible low fat diet, and some moderate exercise 3 times weekly, and you can control your hypertension. I hope this helps you control your hypertension naturally. And if you need to lose weight find a good plan, that fits your budget, and lifestyle. I hope these tips helped. Good luck!
