Very simply, you are allowed, EVERY day one 7 ounce portion of lean protein, in combination with all of the green vegetables you can consume! What kinds of proteins are on the table so to speak? Your choice! Fish, chicken, beef….even tofu for the vegetarian segment of the population! And the greens? Spinach, broccoli, kale….ANYTHING your heart desires (and needs!) is a suitable selection, and works interchangeably well with this part of your dieting day.

Can I Have NON Green Vegetables?

Yes, of course..:-) But the key of course is to stay with vegetables that are low in calories, and stay away from the easy cheats. Potatoes for example are NOT a good choice, nor would corn or other vegetables that are going to be higher in calories. Brightly colored peppers and other nutrient rich natural selections should be fine as well – but Medifast does place a particular emphasis on the nutritional and restorative power of green veggies across the board. (they are in fact high in lots of dense nutrients that the body craves, especially in diet that is HIGH in power, but low in calories!)
