The IH Brain Pain Team are trying to raise awareness for a little known yet devastating brain condition called IH. (Intracranial hypertension.) Old names for IH include Pseudotumour cerebri, benign intracranial hypertension (BIH) and idiopathic intracranial hypertension. (IIH) It can affect anyone at any age, and can cause life altering disability. Most people have never heard of IH, and most IH sufferers look well, when they are not!! IH symptoms include severe headaches (as if your head is in a vice!), Vision Loss, Optic nerve swelling, Double vision, Pulse- symchronous tinnitus, Sore / stiff neck, Back pain, Memory / cognitive problems, Fatigue, Malaise, Dizziness, Light headedness, Photophobia, Noise sensitivity, and many more symptoms. No two cases are the same, making it a very difficult condition to manage. For some people drugs help to control the brain pressure, but for others the drugs don’t work and they have to endure painful sugery. IH is an invisible illness. IH sufferers look well, and often don’t get treated with the compassion that they deserve, because people don’t realise how serious IH is! Please take a few minutes to watch this video put together by many IH sufferers in the hope that we can raise awareness for IH and the IH Research foundation. The IH Research foundation are the only non profit organization in the world devoted to researching chronic IH, to find better treatments, and ultimately one day a cure! Please go to the IH research foundation …
