Intracranial Hypertension aka IH is a rare disease in which Spinal Fluid builds up in a person’s brain creating severe pressures. The most common symptoms of IH are chronic excrutiating headaches, tinnitus (a condition that causes whooshing in the ears) and papiledema where the pressure becomes so intense it damages the optic nerves causing blindness. As of now there is no known cause for IH and no cure. We have little funding for research and the result is painful treatments that treat our symptoms and not the cause of our disease. Our lives have been taken away from us by bodies that can no longer function properly.
