The first thing to consider, if you have high blood pressure is a high blood pressure diet. If you are not overweight a high blood pressure diet will not have as big of impact on your hypertension as it will if you are overweight.
I was on my way to play golf with my nephew and we stopped in at a drugstore to pick up a few items. As I was waiting for him when I noticed a machine with a pressure cuff on it, in the corner. As I researched the best diet to go on for hypertension it turned out that losing weight is what had the biggest impact on my B. P. and not the specific foods I was eating. In fact, one professor at Kansas State University had significantly lowered his blood pressure on a reduced calorie diet consisting mainly of Twinkies, Doritos, And Little Debbies. Go figure.
It is true that lower sodium will reduce hypertension, but it does not change your base B.P. In other words sodium has a temporary effect on hypertension and not a permanent one.
The Best High Blood Pressure Diet Is The Easiest Weight Loss Diet You Can Find
Dieting isn’t easy no matter how you cut it, but there are easier ways to do it than others. At the time of this writing I am now 205 pounds and my hypertension is gone. What a relief.

I recommend losing weight and exercise as the primary way to control you B. P. If that doesn’t bring your B. P. into the normal range then try other things like supplements and medications.
