So you have made your product and are ready to sell it in the market, but you may be forgetting something. Even though it may sound as obvious as things could get, fully testing your product is an often overlooked issue.
Product testing is not always a straight forward process. If you’re selling an information product, besides having someone proof read it and verifying any and all spelling errors, you’ll also want to make sure that all components are easily accessible. For example, your product may be designed to be consumed in a certain order. You’ll want to make sure these special instructions are clearly visible to your users
You’ve probably been testing the product through out its development stages but once it is complete you have to make sure it is tested again. If you end up with a product that is not easy to use or one that doesn’t work properly you will then most likely have more refunds than sales which is something you really don’t want.
Make sure you have everything set up correctly before you launch your product. Give your product away to some trusted friends and family members. Have them use it on different computers with different operating systems. Make sure to note any particular setups that cause problems. It’s far better to list certain requirements on your sales page and lose a few sales, then it is to have angry customers request refunds.
Beyond your product, you should also be testing out your sales and payment process. There is nothing worse then having people ready to buy, but can’t due to technical problems on your site.
